I’ve always loved fabric and colour (my huge collection of fabric and threads would attest to this), and I made my first quilt in 1983 as a wedding gift for my brother. It was The Star of Bethlehem made with cardboard templates and scissors, and really not a beginner quilt for the self-taught. Quilting has come a long way since then.
Over the years I have enjoyed taking classes from some wonderful teachers and in April 2000 I opened Quilted Treasures and began teaching classes myself. For 18 years QT was located in Coquitlam as a full brick and mortar shop, but in 2018 I moved to Cloverdale, in Surrey. I now sell items mainly on-line.
In 2009 I purchased “Betsie” my Gammill Statler longarm quilting machine, and she moved with me to Cloverdale where I’m primarily a longarm quilter. Customers can choose from a wide range (1000’s) of designs at very reasonable prices. I love the way quilting brings the quilts to life. Later in 2017 I added DMC threads, including the 35 new colours and some cross-stitch supplies. I sell quilting patterns, notions, kits and pre-cut fabric along with the cross-stitch items on-line.
